Unit could not believe the opportunity presented to it!
It has been visiting a lovely gallery over in the Doll Works. It's called "The Gallery Lapideus" and contains a large collection of ASFR artworks and exhibits.
One of its friends has been an exhibit there on more than one occasion, depicting a variety of ASFR subjects and broadening the term somewhat. Unit always admired the way its friend gave herself to her role, whether forced to do so or by her own choosing.
Unit met the curator of the gallery today, who claimed to have heard many things about unit. Most of which good. Unit was surprised at that. It didn't know its existence was so well known. But it listened nonetheless. At one point unit had to sit down as it felt dizzy. One of its gyroscopes in its new.. OH!
Unit has new arms! A very distinguished gentleman who has been hanging around the Drone Station for a while said he "took pity" on unit, and brought a mechanic over to fit unit with a brand new pair of cybernetic arms! They're a little bulky for unit's torso, but they contain gyroscopes in the shoulder joints to help stabilize unit, and are much, much stronger than the prosthetic limbs unit has been wearing.
They also colored very nicely with unit's new color scheme. Which is something unit also hasn't mentioned yet. Oh dear.
To return to where unit had left off; Unit had to sit down as one of the gyroscopes slowed its spin rate, offsetting unit's balance and making it feel dizzy. Or at least it would be called such by biological entities.
This prompted the curator to ask whether unit had to recharge its batteries? Unit blinked red, checked its power levels and then blinked green. The curator wondered if unit had any spare batteries on it, and unit blinked red. Did it need to use a specific recharge system? Unit blinked green. Did it have such a system on it? Unit checked its pockets, then did a quick scout of the networks around it and located a recharge pod in a store not too far away. Unit blinked green, put in the order, and the movers were at the gallery in less than fifteen minutes.
Unit assisted in mounting the device to a wall, plugged it in, and climbed into the pod to check the settings (and recharge, of course). All seemed to be in order, but the curator had an odd glance in her eyes. She walked up to the pod, brought a hand up against the glass, and stared at unit. Unit's faceless hood stared back and it felt a bit uneasy. It was like the curator could look straight into unit's soul, see the being that hid behind all the latex and metal and the implant.
A moment passed, and then she sighed and smiled up. "I would be honored if you'd be an exhibit here." she spake, and unit blinked its eyes in the safety of the hood before carefully blinking green. The curator seemed to like that, and nodded to herself. She offered that she thought unit would make a good addition to her gallery, and should feel free to come recharge as long and as frequent as unit desired.
While unit doesn't get paid per se, the free recharge spot is very much appreciated and unit will look to make use of it when it has to shut down for maintenance once every 18 hours. The extra recharge unit got did have a nasty side effect.. it's got more energy than it knows what to do with right now.
Perhaps unit needs to explore a little...
